A relevant "Voice of the Customer" (VoC) approach is not limited only to your customer feedback. Understanding your positioning requires a comparative analysis of your competitors.
Online reviews from platforms such as Google Business Profile (GBP) or TripAdvisor provide a comprehensive overview of performance as well as evolving trends within your industry.
To address this need, SatisFactory offers a competitor analysis feature, which can be quickly configured as soon as the integration of your review site or social network is active on the platform. The panel is limited to 10 establishments: your establishment and 9 competing establishments.
Configure competitor analysis
Adding competitors on the platform
In V1 of the platform, open the left-hand side menu and select "Manage" then "Social networks". Open the edit page of one of the already configured social networks.
In the "Competition" section of the page, fill in the fields "Label", "Brand" and "URL". You can add up to 9 competitors to create a Top 10.
Note: To retrieve the competitor’s URL, you need to go to Google’s PlaceID Finder (https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/places/web-service/place-id?hl=en), search for the competitor’s location, and copy their PlaceID. The PlaceID must then be added at the end of the following Google link: https://search.google.com/local/reviews?placeid=
Once the competitors have been added, all that remains is to save the page. Reviews will be displayed on the platform within a few days.
Adding competitors in bulk via CSV file import
On the platform, you can bulk add competitors by importing a CSV file (UTF-8 format).
You first need to download the competitor import CSV template (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ULiVYcec183h3RtQQef4lVTL-7paDjr6/view?usp=drive_link). It contains 10 columns and must not exceed 10 rows (headers + 9 competitors). We therefore recommend creating one CSV file per establishment to comply with these requirements.
- Complete the competitor import CSV template.
The "name" column corresponds to the name of the establishment and must be filled in with the same value as the label of the establishment shown in its edit form on the platform. - The "channel" column corresponds to the source channel of the social network and must be filled in with, for example, "google" or "trustpilot".
- The "url" column corresponds to the URL of the Google page associated with the establishment, to be retrieved directly from its edit form on the platform.
- The "identifier" column corresponds to the identifier of the establishment in its edit form on the platform.
- The "is_api_response" column must be filled in with the value “0”.
- The "place_id" column corresponds to the unique Google ID of the establishment’s Google page. It is provided by the SatisFactory technical team and begins with “ag”.
- The "metadata" column corresponds to the metadata associated with the establishment, to be retrieved directly from its edit form on the platform.
- The "competitor_name" column corresponds to the name of the competitor establishment, including its location if necessary.
- The "competitor_url" column corresponds to the URL of the competitor’s Google page. To retrieve it, go to Google’s PlaceID Finder (https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/places/web-service/place-id?hl=en), search for the competitor’s location, and retrieve their PlaceID. The retrieved PlaceID must then be added at the end of the following Google link: “https://search.google.com/local/reviews?placeid=”
- The "competitor_brand" column corresponds to the competitor’s brand name, without mentioning its location.
The file to be imported into the platform must be a semicolon-separated UTF-8 CSV file. It must therefore be edited and/or converted via Microsoft Excel in order to be accepted by the platform.
In V1 of the platform, open the left-hand side menu and select "Manage" then "Social networks".
Click on the “Upload a file” button and select the completed CSV template.
If the file does not contain any data entry or format errors, a success message will appear.
Warning: Due to the limit of 9 competitors per CSV file and per establishment, it is necessary to create and import as many files as there are establishments with competitors.
Reviews will be displayed on the platform within a few days.
Access competitor analysis
